Mac on a Windows domain / Magic Triangle not logging on says Keychain needs to be updated

If you get a error when logging onto Mac that the keychain needs to be updated, and then lots of popups when you’ve logged on asking you to put a password in, and whichever password you put in, user or administrator, none will remove the vast amount of pop ups, you need to do the following.

To fix this problem, you need to access the users documents through Windows and delete some folders, which have corrupted as such and even administrator can’t access these folders.

To access the folders you will need to change the security settings to give everyone full access then delete the folders. These folders are the ones that Mac OSX creates automatically in the users documents. Before deleting, check that there is no saved work in the folders that the user will need. The folders are:

  • Desktop
  • Documents
  • Downloads
  • Movies
  • Music
  • Pictures

The Library folder is also a folder that is created by Mac OSX, but will probably let you access it. But you will still need to delete this folder, first of all check that there is no documents in the folder that are needed.
