On the Lenovo B590 laptops we have, the network would suddenly be lost after a while, but still show as connected on Network and Sharing options or in the taskbar. The network desktop would disappear, mapped drives, and connection to the internet would fail. The latest Broadcom driver from Lenovo’s website was installed, although there is newer versions on third party websites. The current driver version installed is 6.30.59.151. Below is the settings I’ve changed to manage to get the laptops from losing wireless connection.
Network and Sharing – Change Adapter Settings – Right click on Wi-Fi and click properties – Click the Power Management Tab
Changed the setting for
Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power: From ticked, to unticked
Network and Sharing – Change Adapter Settings – Right click on Wi-Fi and click properties – Click the advanced tab
Changed the settings for
AP Compatibility Mode: From Higher Performance to Broader Compatibility
Bandwidth Capability: From 11b/g:20MHz to 11b/g:20/40MHz
Minimum Power Consumption: From Enabled to Disabled
UPDATE: Issues even worse on Windows 10. Install the below driver to fix it.
