Klarstein TG-109B Film & Photo Scanner not installing on Windows 10
I bought this scanner to scan negatives in and digitise them. After a couple of hours of trying to install the drivers that came on the disc with the scanner I finally managed to get it to work. See below.
The catalogue file in the 64 Bit file didn’t work. The one in the x86 is different and did work, but I still had to disable driver signing enforcement first.
Copy the 64 bit drivers into c:\Program Files\ and create a new folder. Copy the 64Bit drivers into here. Rename the certificate ovtscannerx64 and put .old at the end so it changes the file type. Then copy the certificate from the x86 folder into the folder you have just created. The working x86 driver is called ovts16
Then you have to disable driver signing enforcement. You will have to do the below every time you boot up your computer and want to use the scanner.
Start – Settings – Update and Security – Recovery –
Click restart now under the advanced start-up option
Click troubleshoot – advanced options – startup options – click restart
Then press F7 to disable Driver Signing Enforcement.
Once you’ve done that, go to device manager (devmgmt.msc) right click on the scanner and click update driver. Then point to the folder you put in Program Files.
If you don’t have the drivers, then the drivers I used are below. Just extract with 7Zip and put into Program Files.
Remember, you have to disable Driver Signing Enforcement every boot up, unless you find a registry to permanently disable this.
